Sweet or savoury? Shortcrust or filo? Home-made or shop-bought? Whichever one you choose the pastry must be crispy and definitely no “soggy bottoms”! The best pie I ever tasted was my Granny’s Steak & Kidney Pie – steaming hot from her Aga. No new-fangled fan or gas oven for her, so she would be thrilled with the come-back of the traditional kitchen Aga, always hot and ready to be used. Have a look at this one.
